Hi, my name is Gillian

- Female, 8 years old
- Weak Digestive System, responds to more frequent vomiting
- The doctor recommends eating
more wet food instead of dry food
- Gillian’s owner is a busy college student
- Gillian’s owner usually feeds her twice: The first time in the morning
but sometimes the second time is late at night

- Female, 4 years old
- Nami had a bit of a fussy taste
- She loves the meat cube in dry food, and she enjoys Flake (Meat with Soup) instead of Pâté (Mashed Meat)
- Nami will not eat if the food is not what she likes

Type 1
- Allow Wet Food
- No Remote Control
- Require Icepack

From Market..

Although today's market offers some feeders capable of providing wet food for cats, these options are not as "smart" as today's dry food feeders:

In this case, why don't we have a wet food feeder as good as the dry food feeders of today?

Form Development

What we Discover

1) Here are some general reasons why cats can’t or do not prefer dry food:

Fussy Eater

Quality/ Texture (How Mouth Feel)

Tooth and Gums’ Injury or Disease

Type 2
- Allow Wet & Dry Food
- No Remote Control
- Require Icepack

2) For the pet owner who come home late, they usually will choose automatic feeder

About Wet Food

Why there’s not wet food feeder?

- Most wet food today is stored in cans for longer shelf life, making an "automatic wet food feeder" mechanically challenging to develop

- Unlike dry food pellets, the liquid content in wet food makes it more prone to spoilage

- Wet food loses appeal once it dries out, resulting in poor taste and diminished quality

Then What if…

Commponent Analysis

Recreating Wet Food (Flake)

- Wet food contains two major ingredients: Soup and Meat Flake

- By transferring “Meat Flake” into a dry meat cube and “Soup” into powder, it’s possible to design a new feeder with the same mechanism

- After adding water to soften dry meat and mixing it with soup powder, we can recreate "wet food" with dry ingredients

What if we could design an automatic feeder that

- Able to feed wet food
- Keep the same mechanism

Proportion Study

Considering the cat's height is varied by breed, using the average height of the current feeder is better. However, The width/ length can be designed.
